Keep it Simple

Keep it simple! How do we do that? Is that even possible?

I think the true question is, are we overthinkers? Do we sit and wait to hear the voice of the Lord? When we do hear from God, do we follow His instruction? Let me answer that question for you; No! We are a people of impatience. We are people that often ask “Why is this happening to me.” If our prayers were answered as soon as God heard them we would be in trouble. Sometimes I feel that God has not heard me or my prayers. To be completely transparent, I have felt that maybe He is ignoring me at times. Be honest with yourself, has God ever let you down? I have questioned that myself. If we all are being honest with ourselves, we have been disappointed that a prayer was not answered when we thought it needed to be answered.

We have probably felt this way on several occasions. Sometimes we ask for things that are not in line with what God has called us to do and I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to do anything that will affect the calling on my life.

Ask - Seek - Knock

Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be open to you.” For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be open.

Those are not my words, this scripture comes directly from the word of God. Maybe the true power of waiting on God is to just Keep it Simple and start asking for understanding and direction.

Ask God

What is my calling God?

What do you want me to do in the kingdom?

Remember to be careful what you ask for because He does answer prayers. I am living proof of that and I will share my story with you later. Keeping it simple isn't so easy to do. I need to remind you that we are all far from perfect and the great blessing is that God doesn’t expect us to be perfect, by keeping it simple we allow room for God to lead and guide us. Think about this; If we were perfect people, would we need God? The scripture tells us that God is perfect and if we follow Him we will therefore be perfect in Him. Please don't forget we are human and humans don’t always make the best decisions and sometimes we do things out of the will of God. I don't know about you, but I know my God is forgiving.

The following scripture is so simple and tells us just how to keep it simple!

In Matthew 5:48 it says “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your heavenly father is perfect.”

What does this scripture mean?

We as people need to strive to be as morally complete and mature in God. We should do this in our everyday lives, our careers, and our personal lives. What are some things that you give your all to in your own life? In everything we do, we should make sure Christ is at the center. So tell me why we as people can’t be more Christ-like? I know that when Christ is at the center of one's life, they are Christ-like towards others. On a personal note, I pray daily that my relationship with God is better today than it was yesterday and people see Christ through me. That's why it is important to me to try to keep it simple. I don’t need to announce to anyone that I have a relationship with God. I don't need to carry my bible with me or wear apparel that says I love God and or post about my walk with Christ on social media because those who are around me will feel God through me and they will know by the love that I show others, that I love God. We are called to live it daily in our hearts and actions.

All I need to do is walk into a room and people feel the spirit of God is all over me. If Christ is perfect and we align our thoughts, and actions with His, then we will be a perfect people. Maybe not perfect in the eye of man but we aren’t concerned with what man thinks. It's easy, you just keep it simple. Read the word of God as it is an instruction manual on how to win, defend, and defeat. Secondly, follow the commandments they were written to let us know what the expectations in our daily walk should look like. We should have no problem following the plan that the coach has set up for us to score the winning point. We just need to KEEP IT SIMPLE.
